Young Dubais Yarnin

Ngunya Jarjum are offering a one-day workshop for Young Aboriginal Women aged between 14 and 18 years to reconnect with culture and belonging.

Guest speakers include Jane McGowen, and Larissa Smythe from Mid/Nth Coast Sexual Health Services and our own Georgie Robbins will facilitate discussions and talk to the real issues facing our teens.

Interactive Cultural activities will be available to our young women on the day to encourage active participation.

We want to offer our young women:
• Support Aboriginal young women to talk about sensitive concerns e.g. sexual
health, personal hygiene and mental wellbeing
• Provide resources to young women by way of referral to relevant services for
additional support if required
• Engage young women to practise cultural activities such as pottery, paint and
weaving.

Cost for the day will be $150 for young people who are not Ngunya Jarjum Participants. This includes morning and afternoon tea, lunch activities and speakers. There is no charge for Ngunya Jarjum Participants.

BUNDJALUNG LANGUAGE GROUP

ALL AGES EVENT

Language program for Carers/Parents and Jarjums led by Elder, Uncle Roy Gordon.

Cultural life skill opportunity for all Aboriginal people living in Bundjalung Nation.

Will be held at:
10 County Lane
Lismore NSW 2480
10am – 12pm
Every Saturday morning for 5 weeks

Starts 10th Oct. 2020 – Finish 7th Nov. 2020

In partnership with Wandjarri Mali Media Arts and Language Corporation
Cost: $250 carer/parent and $130 per Jarjum.

Young Men Yarnin

Ngunya Jarjum are offering a one-day workshop for Young Aboriginal Men aged between 14 and 18 years to reconnect with culture and belonging.

Guest speakers from Rekindling The Spirit and Solid Mob as well as some of our experienced team to share knowledge.

There will also be Interactive Cultural activities for our young men on the day to encourage active participation such as Aboriginal Language and Traditional games.

We want to offer our young men:
• An opportunity to come together and embed in Cultural activities
• Provide resources to young men by way of referral to relevant services for additional support if required
• A chance to talk about some of the sensitive issues they face including mental health, respectful relationships and drugs and alcohol.
